Here is 5 of the most manliest cocktails you need to know how to make during the holidays.
5) The Old Fashioned:
The KING of manliest drinks! The Old Fashioned was very popular during the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. It came back to life courtesy of TV Shows like Made Men and Suits. It’s man-ly because it also strong in alcohol.
Shill an old fashioned glass with ice and water. In a separate mixing glass add in a sugar sugar cube, add 2 dashes Angostura bitters, 1 ½ oz Borubon or Rye whiskey, muddle everything together and stir vigourusly. Remove the ice and water from old fashioned glass. Pour in the mixture into the old fashioned glass and a big ice cube. Garnish with an orange slice and enjoy with your pinky finger in the air!
4) The Sazerac:
A classic New Orleans cocktail with a lot of French influence. Initially made with Cognac, this drinks is now made with Rye Whiskey. You could mix it with cognac for added bling. If you don’t want to break the bank Rye Whiskey work just as fine.
Rinse a chilled old-fashioned glass with ¼ oz absinthe then crushed ice and set it aside. Stir one sugar cube, 1 1/2 oz Rye whiskey or Cognac, 3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters over ice. Discard the ice and any excess absinthe from the prepared glass, and strain the drink into the glass. Add the Lemon peel for garnish and drink like a boss!
3) Vesper Martini:
You wanna feel like James Bond? This is the drink. However, I am warning you…this MF is STRONG! After having two of these, I can’t feel my legs consider yourself warned!
In a shaker with plenty of cracked ice, add 3 oz Gin, 1 oz Vodka, 1⁄2oz Kina Lillet Blanc Fortified Wine (or White Vermouth). Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and twist a large swatch of thin-cut lemon peel over the top. All your missing is a Licence to Kill!
This drink mixes 3 different alcohols together! How more manly can you get?
In a old fashioned glass, add a big ice cube and mix together 1 oz Gin, 1 oz Campari and 1 oz Red Vermouth. Sip and DO NOT CHUG this drink!
Need I say more? Nothing beats drinking straight whiskey! Whether it’s Scotch or American Rye or Whiskey, you can’t get any more gentleman than that!
In a old fashioned glass add a big ice cub and 1oz or 2oz of whiskey. You can ignore the ice if you want to drink it straight!
