Yes you read correctly. You need to lose in order to learn how to win. Now hold on, I'm not saying to go out and lose or fail on purpose. Some of the biggest lessons you will learn in life come from a big loss or big failure. What's most rewarding to the soul is how well we rise after the fail. No one can ever take that feeling away from you. Nobody!
Sports for instance. I love tennis which is a Gentleman's sport. Tennis is an individual sport. You're on your own and you have no one else to blame but yourself. I started playing tennis when I practically started walking. Throughout my youth I constantly played a lot of tournaments and lost all the time. I didn't set out to be a champion. It just wasn't part of the plan.
Through tennis I learned important life lessons such as: hard work, setting goals, discipline, integrity, accountability, determination and respect.
Yes there's times in life that are harder than others. Focus on the destination rather than focusing on the difficult road ahead.
Once again, ask yourself the following: What is my passion? What am I doing wrong? How badly do I want this? What if I fail? Should I quit? Should I throw in the towel or should I keep on going?
Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do anything. You fell and got a few bruises. So what? Get up, dust yourself up and try again! Everyone loves the underdog!
